Conveyor Shuttle Head System

Location Sept-Iles, Québec
Year of realization 2021
Type of project Capex

SFP Pointe-Noire Port Authority (SFPPN) handles iron ore from various mining customers at its facility in Pointe-Noire, near Sept-Îles, Quebec. SFPPN unloads the trains, stores the ore in its stockyards and loads the ships for export.

In 2021, SFPPN undertook a major expansion project to increase its material handling capacity. The project includes the addition of several new conveyors, transfer towers and other major equipment.

Design of Complex Transfer Point

SFPPN mandated TRINUM with the engineering and design of several pieces of equipment for this expansion project. In particular, TRINUM was mandated to modify the head of the existing 9000 MTPH CV04 conveyor so that it could alternatively load the existing CV05B conveyor or a new CV05A conveyor.
