The Kirkland Lake Mine operates an open-pit mine in northeastern Ontario. Among the various ore handling equipment of the mine, the mine operates the stockpile feed conveyor no. 410-2. This conveyor is in operation since 2012 and is critical to the mine operation.

Structural and mechanical inspection of critical assets

Mining conveyors operates under heavy duty loads and are exposed to harsh climatic conditions.  Such equipment need to be inspected by qualified personnel on a regular basis to avoid any catastrophic failure and to plan the their maintenance programs.  Trinum’s team thouroughtly inspected the stockpile conveyor 410-2 at Detour Gold.  The inspection report included 11 urgent repairs and 6 long term recommendation to improve the reliabilty of the system.
