From Beryllium to Trinum

Founded in 2015, the Beryllium Group offers mechanical design services to manufacturers of material handling equipment across Canada and the United States. Over the years, however, we have been approached directly by conveyor owners with requests to assist them with equipment reliability or new projects. With the development of this new mission, we decided to become TRINUM.

Now serving all: Industrial factories, mines, OEM's and installation contractors.

The name TRINUM is made up of the words “Triangle” and “Numerical”. The triangle represents our strong expertise centered on analysis, science and experience. Numerical reflects our systematic approach of quantifying and identifying problems and solutions.


Our team

TRINUM was founded by professionals who have a vast experience with many specialized projects within the conveyor and mechanical equipment manufacturing industry. Since its start, several leaders have joined the team and brought their design, analysis and operation skills to the table. Today, the company can count on a talented workforce to deliver the expert services we are known for in the industry.

During his career, Jean-François has overseen several large-scale projects and has been responsible for the design and start-up of conveyor systems for mines and port terminals.

Jean-François is co-founder of TRINUM and manages our team of professionals. In addition, Jean-François acts as a senior reliability engineer and is often called upon to assist customers in optimizing their conveyor operations.

Jean-François graduated in mechanical engineering from University Laval.

Martin Royer

Senior Mechanical Designer and Partner of TRINUM

At TRINUM, Martin is our leader in the design of general arrangements for conveyor systems used in mines and sawmills. His accomplishments include a number of design projects of various machines, in particular conveyor systems.

Martin leads and trains our team of designers. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from CEGEP Limoilou.

Sylvain Potvin

Project Manager - Reliability

Sylvain has extensive experience in mechanical design. In addition, he is one of our most experienced technicians for on-site support. Sylvain is able to accurately diagnose a conveyor system’s performance and help customers implement fixes or modifications that can improve reliability and productivity. Sylvain is a tremendous support to our customers during maintenance shutdowns.

Sylvain graduated in mechanical engineering from CEGEP Limoilou. He also has several security training certifications such as from Cognibox and ISN.
